Janhvi Kapoor Celebrates Her 21st Birthday In An Old Age Home – See Pic And Video
Sridevi‘s elder daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, turned 21 today. This was the first birthday of the soon to be actress without her mother and we can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for her. She celebrated the day at an old age home. Today, a video from the occasion with people singing, ‘Happy Birthday’ in the background and her smiling at them started doing the rounds. While it was heartbreaking to see her celebrate her special day, without her mother by her side, we appreciate the strength with which she is handling her grieving father, sister and herself during this difficult situation. It is certainly not easy to deal with a loss like that, but the young girl is doing everything in her power to do just that and we couldn’t be more proud of her.
Janhvi lost her mother, Sridevi, the iconic actor who redefined an actress’ role in Hindi cinema, to accidental drowning during the night of February 24 this year. She was just all of 54 and was in Dubai to attend a relative’s wedding when the tragic incident occurred. Janhvi, who was busy shooting for her upcoming Bollywood debut film, Dhadak, was in Mumbai and couldn’t even see her mother for the last time. The only thing that she got to see was her mother’s mortal remains that was brought to India on February 27, after much delay, due to the lengthy investigation process. Take a look at the picture and video from Janhvi’s birthday celebration today, that’s gone viral:
At this old age home, Janhvi can be seen posing with three cakes. It was a tradition that the mother and daughter had been carrying on since many years to celebrate her special day like this. Some are also saying that the video is from last year. Well, irrespective Sridevi, would have definitely been very proud of her daughter today. To turn one’s own grief into happiness for others is a sign of immense character, something the late actress had imbibed in her two daughters. On March 3, Boney Kapoor, along with his two daughters, immersed Sridevi’s ashes in Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu. Janhvi had penned a heart wrenching letter that day, in memory of her mother. She began the letter by saying , “On my birthday, the only thing I ask of all of you is that you love your parents. Cherish them and devote yourself to making them feel that love. They have made you.” We experienced a lump in our throats reading the post and we’re sure you’ll felt the same emotions in your hearts. It’s truly heartbreaking to see a young girl as Janhvi grow up and carry on the rest of her life without her mother by her side, who was more of a dear friend, always guiding her and caring for her.”
