Daniel Craig Confirms That He’s Back As James Bond, But Only For One Last Time

It was earlier reported that Daniel Craig will return as James Bond for at least one more film. Eon Productions, the London-based production house, the home of everything Bond, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, which holds the rights to the franchise announced that the next installment in the Bond series is set to arrive in November 2019.  As per the announcement, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade – who’ve written the screenplays for the last six Bond films – will team up again to provide the script for the next Bond film.

We were only awaiting a confirmation from Craig, and we just got it. “I’ve been quite cagey about it,” he admitted Tuesday to US television host Stephen Colbert on CBS’s The Late Show. “I’ve been doing interviews all day and people have been asking me and think I’ve been rather coy, but I kind of felt like if I was going to speak the truth, I should speak the truth to you,” he said.

When asked of his return as Bond, Craig replied: “Yes” before standing up and shaking Colbert’s hand with a smile. “I couldn’t be happier, “I think this is it. This is it. I just want to go out on a high note.” he added.

Craig’s stint as James Bond began in 2005 with Casino Royale followed by Quantum Of Solace (2008). His third Bond film, Skyfall was delayed due to MGM’s financial troubles, but released in 2012 to become the highest grossing Bond film of all time earning a whopping $1.109 billion worldwide.

On 8 September 2012, Bond producers announced Craig had signed on for two future Bond films, meaning he would appear as 007 in at least five films, making him the third longest-serving Bond after Roger Moore who starred in seven films, and Sean Connery who starred in six. However, after his last Bond film, Spectre (2015), the actor expressed a strong desire to drop the role. “I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” he told a British magazine in October. But Daniel turned on his statements and claimed that he was only overtired during the interview and would consider returning.

But for now, it seems it’s only about time before we see him again!
